Tetris is a group of art outfitters, creating soundscapes based on hypnotic phrases from a myriad of synths and deep bass. Their ever-changing line-up is prone to heavy analogue manipulation of screeching guitars, classical piano and monotonous beats, adding color to their unpredictable yet (often) explosive performances.
TETRIS was founded in and got its name after a legendary venue in Prishtina, a home to various artists, events and art projects from 2009 to 2016.
“Tetris Band was probably the main direct (documented) output that came out of the inner creative process that happened at the premises. With the help of slam poetry and delta blues echoing down the lonely streets of a river-less city, the Tetris in-house band brought art outfitters into the realm of creating music.”
– Alush Gashi, Prishtina Post Washington Coast
As the name of the band suggests, let us not be surprised by the twisted tunes and rhythms that – instead of obscure vintage keyboards from the golden do-it-yourself era – seem to come from an analog television set connected to the good old 8-bit Sega, Nintendo or Atari video game consoles!
