The 251st Day of the Year
A. i N.Sinkauz i I. Marušić Klif (HR)
The 251st Day of the Year is an audio-visual project designed both to investigate and unveil the process of making music on the spot by improvising and sampling. While the musicians communicate with each other vis-à-vis, the development of music and video material is escalating, resulting in almost theatrical tensions. Over time, the audio-visual structures evolve into unexpected forms of sound and image construction / deconstruction. The name of the project varies; in order to underline its uniqueness, the ordinal number in the name refers to the day of the year when the performance takes place.
Over the past few years, Alen and Nenad Sinkauz have become renowned performers on the experimental music scene, thanks to both their East Rodeo project and solo performances. The Sinkauz brothers, born in Pula, also work in theatre and co-operate with the Perforations Festival and the Domino Association. Apart from their tour in Japan, they performed at a number of festivals, such as the Limit Live Art Festival in Belgrade, TBA in Portland, Oregon and Abrons Art Center in New York. Ivan Marušić Klif is one of the few prominent authors of experimental media art in Croatia. He creates kinetic, light and video instalations and occassionally perfoms. Miroslav Piškulić is a sound designer who worked with a number of prominent performers in Croatia.
