The Press conference of Perforacije, international Performance Festival, was launched in early October at Zagrebački Plesni Centre. The Croatian leg of this travelling festival will visit Zagreb, Rijeka and Dubrovnik between the 20th and 29th of October.
The festival will open with the Croatian-Brazilian coproduction NAFTA / OIL, which opens in Rijeka on the 20th of October (20h, at HKD theatre).
The young Brazilian choreographers Ana Catarina Vieria and Angelo Madureira, presented their work in progress with 6 dancers from Rijeka with a short dance performance. After performances in Rijeka, Zagreb (24.10.2011, Zagrebački Plesni Center) and Dubrovnik, the piece will go on tour in Brazil. The performance was inspired by Rijeka’s Oil Rafinery which represents a starting point to touch upon themes that concern everyday issues, from economics to politics, through consumerism to human impact on the enviroment.
The programmes’ art director Zvonimir Dobrović emphasized the uniqueness of this festival – the tight cooperation among the partners Kultura promjene of the Student Centre Zagreb, Drugo More from Rijeka and Art Workshop Lazareti from Dubrovnik allows for decentralized presentation of the festival programme and cooperation with the regional partners.
This years’ programme of Perforacije has one novelty – the Showcase of Croatian performing arts, which includes homegrown theatre, dance and performance with the aim to promote it to foreign producers. The Showcase Perforacije brings togehter famed authors such as Oliver Frljić, Nataša Rajković and Bobo Jeličić, Branko Brezovac, Željko Zorica, Room 100, B.D. Indoš and Tanja Vrvilo, in the Night of Performances.
Drugo Mores Davor Mišković and Nataša Rajković from Kultura Promjene both emphasized the uniqueness and significance of Perforacije. „The possibility of cooperation with the Brazilian choreographers will allow dancers to gain very valuable experience. This production makes this festival even more relevant in artistic circles“ said Davor Mišković.
The third issue of the festival Perforacije this year will take place from 20th -29th October 2011 in Rijeka, Zagreb and Dubrovnik. More about the program see on www.perforacije.org.
