When text becomes only one element of the theatrical experience, what consequences does it have for language? Given the internationalisation of the scenes, using more than one language is a common practice in the new plays from Germany and Austria. And when theatre becomes an increasingly personal experience, how do you write about it for a wider audience?

Rijeka’s ZOOM Festival will showcase selected performances from Austria and Germany from 06th to 12th September 2012. To give a wider perspective on the current developments in the performing arts scene in the German speaking countries, we invite renowned theatre makers, theorists and journalists for a series of lectures.
